In-Class Quizzes
Five of the six classes begin with a short quiz on that week's required readings, which are listed in the Library. The quizzes are done on paper without devices. There are five quizzes, worth 3 points each.
Milestones
Between classes, there is a short milestone that applies that week's material to your own work. Each is due before the start of the next class. The instructions and the submission form for each one are on its assignment page.
| Milestone | Name | Due | Format | Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Milestone #1 | Survey and Setup | Before Week 1 Thu, Jan 28 | Individual | 10 |
| Milestone #2 | Task Map | Before Week 2 Thu, Feb 4 | Individual | 10 |
| Milestone #3 | Ship It | Before Week 3 Thu, Feb 11 | Group | 10 |
| Milestone #4 | Personal Benchmark | Before Week 4 Thu, Feb 18 | Individual | 10 |
| Milestone #5 | Priced In | Before Week 5 Thu, Feb 25 | Group | 10 |
Final Project
The course ends with one shared project, done in groups. Every group receives the same data and answers a question of its own choosing for a stated audience. The topic, the data, and a detailed brief will be released in class. The project is worth 25 points. Its grade combines the instructor and TA (70%) and an AI review (30%), both scored on the same rubric. The AI review is there because more and more work in finance is read by an AI before a person sees it, and a good project should hold up to both readers.
Optional Tasks
There will be optional tasks that let you earn additional points, up to 15 in total.
